Liberty chairs use a unique tri-panel mesh backrest that automatically adapts to the shape of the user’s back. Combined with Humanscale’s weight-sensitive recline, the chair provides continuous ergonomic support without requiring complex manual adjustments.

Liberty was designed by legendary industrial designer Niels Diffrient. The chair reflects Diffrient’s philosophy that ergonomic design should feel natural and intuitive rather than complicated.

Liberty Ocean is a version of the Liberty chair made using reclaimed fishing nets recovered from the ocean. It delivers the same ergonomic performance as the original design while helping reduce ocean plastic waste.

Liberty Lab is designed for laboratory and healthcare environments. It features materials and finishes suited for clinical settings, including durable, easy-to-clean surfaces and textiles designed to support demanding work environments.
